Our Process

At Green Mountain Chimney Care, we believe homeowners deserve a service experience that is organized, transparent, and built around safety. Every project we take on — from routine assessments to full system rebuilds — follows a structured process designed to deliver clarity, reliability, and long‑lasting results.

1. Initial Contact & Scheduling

Your service begins the moment you reach out. We gather essential details about your appliance, chimney system, and any concerns you’ve noticed. From there, we schedule a visit at a time that works for you and provide clear expectations for the appointment.

2. On‑Site Assessment

Every service starts with a thorough chimney assessment. We evaluate all accessible areas of the system, document our findings, and identify any safety concerns, performance issues, or structural deficiencies. This step ensures we fully understand the condition of your chimney before recommending any work.

3. Chimney Sweep (When Applicable)

If your service includes a sweep, we perform it during the same visit. This removes creosote, debris, and other obstructions that can affect safety and performance. If the results of the initial sweep do not meet our standards, we sweep the flue again to ensure the system is fully prepared for safe operation.

4. Detailed Findings & Recommendations

Once the assessment is complete, we review our findings with you in clear, straightforward terms. We explain what we observed, why it matters, and what steps — if any — are needed to restore safe, reliable operation. You’ll receive honest recommendations based on industry standards and real system conditions.

5. Transparent Estimates

If repairs or upgrades are needed, we provide a detailed estimate outlining the scope of work, materials, and pricing. We take the time to answer your questions so you can make an informed decision with confidence.

6. Professional Repairs & Installations

When you approve the work, we schedule your project and complete it with the highest level of craftsmanship. Whether we’re installing a stainless steel liner, rebuilding a chimney, or setting a new wood stove, we strictly follow all applicable codes and standards — including NFPA 211 — to ensure long‑term safety and performance.

7. Final Review & System Verification

After the work is completed, we perform a final review of the system to confirm everything is operating as intended. We walk you through the results, explain what was completed, and ensure you feel confident using your appliance safely.

8. Ongoing Support & Maintenance

Your chimney system requires regular care to stay safe and efficient. We’re here for annual assessments, routine maintenance, and any questions that come up throughout the year. Our goal is to be your long‑term partner in home safety.
